Application of improved thermostatic Water Bath in instrument derusting

The industry standard WS310. 2-2009 "Hospital Disinfection Supply Center Part 2: Technical Operation Specifications for Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization" clearly stipulates that rust on instruments should be removed. According to the specification of the rust remover product, the solution temperature is 50°C to 80°C, the effect is better and the effect is the fastest . In order to keep the rust remover solution between 50°C and 80°C and make it play a good role, we have improved the constant temperature Water Bath for rust removal of instruments and achieved good results. The introduction is as follows.

1 method

1. 1 Improved equipment

The internal size of the constant temperature Water Bath used is 45cm × 35cm × 35cm, and the wall thickness is 3cm. The inner wall of the Water Bath is marked with a scale for the required . There are 2 U-shaped heat pipes side by side at the bottom to heat up quickly. Above the heat pipes is a partition with a size of 42cm×32cm×5cm, which holds a plastic storage box. There is a control switch and a drainpipe connected to the drain outlet at the bottom . There is a handle on the left and right sides of the cover, which is convenient for opening the cover to the opposite side. There is an operation control panel on the right side of the Water Bath, which is equipped with a temperature regulator, a temperature display, and a power supply. switch. Weld 4 feet with steel pipes below the Water Bath . Use a storage box with a heat resistance of 120°C and a cold resistance of -20°C and a size of 30cm × 27cm × 17cm as the inner frame of the Water Bath. The scales required for pure water or distilled water and rust remover are marked inside the box for easy preparation.

1. 2 How to use

Clean the inner wall of the Water Bath before use, and add pure water or distilled water according to the scale on the inner wall. Put the storage box into the Water Bath, and add rust remover and pure water or distilled water to the required amount according to the scale on the inner wall of the storage box. The water level in the Water Bath should be lower than the height of the storage box. Turn on the power , set the temperature regulator at 70°C, and keep the water temperature and rust remover solution in the Water Bath at about 70°C. Completely open the instruments that are found to have rust after cleaning quality inspection , collect them in the instrument basket and put them in the rust remover solution for 2 to 5 minutes, soak the heavily rusted instruments for 5 to 10 minutes, take them out and rinse them with pure water or distilled water , and then maintain the device with a water-soluble lubricant .

The improved constant-temperature Water Bath heating method can keep the rust remover solution at about 70°C, and exert a good effect. The rust removal is fast and effective, and the work efficiency is improved.

3 Discussion

The constant temperature Water Baths on the market are small and not suitable for use in disinfection supply centers , so we have improved the equipment. The main component of the rust remover is phosphoric acid, which is mild and weakly acidic. It has a corrosive effect on the iron and may easily cause a short circuit of the power supply. Therefore, we use a heat-resistant storage box as the inner frame of the Water Bath. The rust remover solution is separated from the Water Bath to ensure its normal use. During use, it should be noted that when there is no water in the constant temperature Water Bath , it is forbidden to turn on the power to heat, otherwise the heating pipe will be burned; when filling water, do not flow water into the control box to prevent leakage; the green is on for heating, and the red light is on for constant temperature; during use Pay attention to anti- scalding. The ratio of rust remover to water is 1:7, and it should be replaced once every 21 days. The improved constant temperature Water Bath can maintain the rust remover solution at about , which is not conducive to bacterial reproduction. The improved constant temperature Water Bath is used for rust removal , which saves manpower, material resources, time, and reduces cleaning costs, and is worthy of popularization and application.
