Since the powder former compacts the powder under constant pressure conditions, the surface of the prepared sample is smooth and even with good consistency, and the samples made by the powder former can reduce measurement errors.
Specific operation method
1. Clean all parts of the powder molding machine, especially the glass backing plate, which needs to be wiped clean with cotton wool dipped in alcohol.
2. Put the clean glass backing plate in the bottom cover, screw the sample box into the bottom cover, press the glass backing plate, and there must be no looseness.
3. Add the powder sample to be tested into the sample box, preferably full, and drop it freely at a distance of 10 mm from the tabletop for several times, so that the powder sample can be fully filled in the sample box.
4. Place the pressure pad on the powder, and gently press the pressure pad into the inner cavity of the sample box with your right hand.
5. Screw the gland on the sample box body and rotate clockwise for 3~4 circles.
6. Screw the screw of the rotary handle into the screw hole of the gland, and continue to screw it to the end. When the pressure reaches a constant value, the handle will slide, and when a sound is heard, it means that the pressure pad automatically stops pressurizing. During the pressing process, the handle connection must not be loose.
7. Rotate the handle counterclockwise for 2~3 turns, and then rotate it counterclockwise to remove the upper gland of the powder former, screw the pressure plate screw into the screw hole of the pressure plate, and take out the pressure plate.
8. Put the backing plate in the sample box, and screw the positioning cover into the sample box.
9. Turn 180°, unscrew the bottom cover, then the glass backing plate covers the top of the sample.
10. It is very likely that the glass backing plate is stuck on the surface of the powder sample. Please hold the sample box with both hands, and gently push the glass backing plate with your thumb. After a little sliding, the glass backing plate can be removed. At this time, the surface is smooth , flat powder samples.
