Three precautions for the use of paint film coating Thickness Gauges

There are many factors that can affect the accuracy of measured data. If the measurement data is wrong, many customers will think it is a problem with the instrument. In fact, wrong operation can also lead to wrong measurement data.

1. Correct use of coating Thickness Gauge

When using a coating Thickness Gauge to measure a coating, it is necessary to press the probe vertically on the surface of the object to be measured. If the measurement is tilted or shaken, the accuracy of the data will be affected. Probes need to be inspected prior to measurement. If there are foreign objects on the surface of the probe, the probe needs to be cleaned. In addition, if you use a coating Thickness Gauge based on the principle of magnetic induction, you need to pay attention to avoid magnetic field interference. The strong magnetic field environment generated by the surrounding electrical equipment will seriously interfere with the measurement results, resulting in inaccurate measurement data. During the measurement, malfunctions, such as crashes, may even occur due to magnetic field disturbances.

2. Store the coating Thickness Gauge correctly

The coating Thickness Gauge is a high-precision measuring instrument, so it requires care when it is used and properly stored and handled after the measurement is completed. If stored incorrectly, the sensitivity of the probe may be reduced and the accuracy of the instrument may be affected.

3. Zero adjustment of the coating Thickness Gauge before use

If it is the first time to use the coating Thickness Gauge, you should read the manual carefully before use and follow the steps in the manual. Take the coating Thickness Gauge produced by Linshang as an example. When using the instrument for the first time, after replacing the battery, when changing the measurement material or when the temperature changes suddenly, in order to reduce the measurement error, zero adjustment should be performed (some higher Performance Thickness Gauge can be automatically calibrated and zeroed). It is strongly recommended to use the same uncoated workpiece surface for zero adjustment (because there may be differences in physical properties (such as magnetic or conductive properties) between the material under test and the zero plate. If you do not have an uncoated workpiece, you can use The aluminum zero plate or iron zero pound plate provided by the manufacturer is used for zero adjustment. Please select the corresponding zero plate according to different materials to be tested. The Linshang coating Thickness Gauge only needs zero adjustment, no calibration is required. After the zero adjustment is completed The measurement can be started. The measurement speed of the instrument is very fast, and the measurement can be completed within 0.5s.

If the instrument fails when using the coating Thickness Gauge, please do not disassemble the instrument by yourself, otherwise the precision parts inside the instrument will be easily damaged. Instruments should be returned to the manufacturer for repair by qualified service personnel.
