The effect of pH value on water resistance

The linking material of water-based ink adopts alkali-soluble linking material to meet the requirement that the linking material can be dissolved by water during printing and become a water-insoluble film layer after drying. The soluble resin salt formed by adding an appropriate amount of amine compounds to the alkali-soluble linking material after chemical treatment is soluble in water, but not resistant to alkali.

Everyone knows that the change of printing ink viscosity has a direct impact on the amount of ink on the printing plate. Therefore , if the ink viscosity changes, it will also affect the printing quality. Therefore, the viscosity of the ink should be controlled in the printing process . The composition of water-based ink contains amine, which is a solubilizing resin, which determines the pH value of water-based ink. Usually the pH range of water-based ink should be between 8.5 and 9.5. At this time printing performance of water-based ink is better and the quality of printed products is the most stable. Since the amine is constantly volatilizing , the operator will add new ink and various additives to the ink from time to time, and the pH value of the ink may change at any time. When the pH value is higher than 9.5, the alkalinity is too strong, the viscosity of the water-based ink will decrease, the drying speed will be slower, and the water resistance will be poor; when the pH value is lower than 8.5, the alkalinity is too weak, and the viscosity of the water-based ink will It will rise, the ink is easy to dry, and it will be blocked on the printing plate and anilox roller, causing the layout to be smudged, and foam will be generated, and the water resistance will also be reduced.
