How to choose the right viscometer?
There are various classifications of viscometers, which can be divided into capillary type, rotary type and vibration type according to the operation mode. So how to choose the correct viscometer and how to use it?
Select the 4 parameters of the viscometer:
1. Temperature, temperature controllable, temperature range?
2. Viscosity range, that is, the viscosity range of the sample.
3. It needs to be measured at a fixed shear rate or fixed speed, rotor, etc.
4. The number of samples, whether the samples are expensive, whether you need to control the sample quantity.

How to use a viscometer?
1. The viscometer needs to maintain a state level.
2. The rotor sample should avoid air bubbles, otherwise the measured viscosity can be reduced. The method is to avoid the rotor sample from tilting, and then install the rotor. The rotor cannot touch the cup wall and cup bottom. The cup, the sample being measured on the scale needs to be No.
3. When measuring different samples, it is necessary to keep the rotor clean and dry. If there are other samples or residual water after cleaning, it will affect the measurement accuracy.
4. The maximum acidity (PH) is not more than 2, if the acidity is too large to use a special rotor, use ULA to determine the quality (16ml)
5. Determine the selection criteria of the liquid viscosity range according to the measured viscosity, and perform each use verification in front of the rheometer of the instrument or viscometer, or check it regularly to ensure the measurement accuracy. BROOKFIELD can supply oils with viscosities ranging from Newtonian fluid properties or silicone oil standards with an accuracy of 1%, and it is recommended that the standard viscosity of the fluid be one year since opening.
6. The value should be more stable in value, otherwise there will be a large numerical error.
7. The selection of the rotor depends on the viscosity of the sample to be measured, and the number of rotors within the measurement range is closer to the selected number.
8. Use the left hand to connect the rotor and gently pinch the mandrel (main body), the rotor rotates with the right hand, this operation is to protect the main shaft body and hairspring, it can prolong the service life of the instrument.
