How to use the Coating Thickness Gauge, tell you how to use the Thickness Gauge

The coating Thickness Gauge mainly uses the principle of magnetic induction or eddy current measurement principle to measure the thickness of the non-magnetic coating on the magnetic permeable material. The coating Thickness Gauge is convenient and quick to measure, has small measurement error and high reliability, and can effectively guarantee product quality when the product is coated, so it is widely used in the machining and testing industries. This article mainly tells you how to use the Thickness Gauge, including the use method, principle and influencing factors of the coating Thickness Gauge.

1) Magnetic thickness measurement method. The so-called magnetic thickness measurement method is suitable for measuring the thickness of non-magnetic coatings on magnetically permeable materials. The magnetically permeable materials are steel, iron, silver, nickel and other metal materials;

2) Eddy current thickness measurement. It uses the electromagnetic field generated on the probe coil to form eddy currents in the process of approaching the conductor, and the size of the formed eddy currents will be directly reflected in the reflection impedance, and finally reflect the thickness of the non-conductive coating on the conductive substrate. Compared with the magnetic thickness measurement method, the accuracy of this method is slightly lower, and it is suitable for measuring the thickness of non-conductive coatings;

3) Ultrasonic thickness measurement method. Because of its high cost and low measurement accuracy, the ultrasonic thickness measurement method has not been effectively used in CHINA at present, and only a few companies abroad are using ultrasonic thickness measurement, mainly because this measurement method can measure magnetic measurement and the thickness of multi-layer coatings that cannot be measured by eddy current measurement;

4) Electrolytic thickness measurement method. This method needs to destroy the coating for electrolytic measurement, the measurement process is complicated, and the measurement accuracy is not high, so it is not widely used;

5) Radiation thickness measurement. This kind of measuring instrument is very expensive and is only used on some special occasions.
