Photo-curable resin viscosity test selection case sharing - viscometer selection

This article is a selection case of a user of NBCHAO. The customer needs to test the viscosity of light-curing resin and coating according to the standard GB/T12008.7-2010. The technical engineer suggested two Rotational Viscometer selection schemes.

User needs

Customers need to test the viscosity of two types of products, light-curing resin and coating, and the viscosity test is carried out in accordance with the standard GB/T12008.7-2010. Samples with low viscosity are generally tested at room temperature or at a temperature of 23 degrees, and samples with high viscosity should be tested at 60 degrees (90,000 mPa·s).

case analysis

From the perspective of samples, it is common for customers to test light-curing resins and coatings. There is no other special processing required, and the basic Rotational Viscometer can meet the requirements.

Judging from the requirements of the GB/T12008 standard, it is divided into method A and method B. An excerpt from the original text "Method A is the Brookfield viscosity method. This test method is suitable for measuring the viscosity at 25°C or 50°C. The range is (10~ 10 5 ) Viscosity of polyether polyols in mPa·s. At the same time, it can also be applied to the viscosity determination of more viscous samples that can be dissolved in n-butyl acetate. Method B is a rotational viscosity method. This test method is suitable for The viscosity of polyether polyols with a viscosity range of (10~10 5 ) mPa·s was measured at the same time."

According to the further needs of customers, it is necessary to control the temperature of the sample, so generally a viscometer with a temperature probe needs to be used together with a constant temperature bath to keep the sample within a certain temperature range and control the temperature range.

Viscometer Solution Recommendations

1. Viscometer using method A: Fangrui NDJ-8S viscometer + temperature probe + HCH1006 constant temperature bath is recommended. This combo set will be relatively economical. The viscosity test range of NDJ-8S viscometer is 1mPa.S ~2 million mPa.s, suitable for 400ml beaker test, with 1~4 rotors. It is a conventional viscometer model. The temperature control range of the HCH1006 constant temperature bath is from room temperature to 100°C, and the volume is 6L.Photo-curing resin viscosity test selection case sharing - Viscometer selection diagram 1

2. Viscometer that meets method B: Fangrui RV-SSR viscometer + temperature probe + DC0506W constant temperature bath are recommended . This combination is relatively expensive, but it is suitable for viscosity testing of small sample volumes. RV-SSR Rotational Viscometer is equipped with 21#, 27#, 28#, 29# four rotors as standard, the test viscosity range is 6.4~2000000cp, and the test sample volume does not exceed 12.6ml. The probe interface is also standard.

DC0506W is a low temperature constant temperature bath, specially used with RV-SSR viscometer, the temperature control range is -5~100℃, and the volume is 6L.

No matter which method is used in the two schemes, the temperature needs to be controlled, and a constant temperature bath needs to be selected separately.
