Asphalt paint (code-named L) occupies a certain position in paint products because of its good corrosion resistance, insulation, decoration and low . Asphalt coatings use natural asphalt and artificial asphalt as the main film-forming substances. Natural asphalt is heavy asphalt with high softening point; artificial asphalt includes petroleum asphalt and coal tar pitch. Asphalt can be dissolved in organic solvents to make anti-corrosion asphalt varnish. Adding asphalt to drying oil or synthetic resin adding auxiliary materials and solvents can be used to make insulating varnish, primer and asphalt baking varnish for metal products such as bicycles and hardware.
Advantages of asphalt paint:

② Good water resistance, excellent stability to acids, alkalis, salts and chemicals;

④ Inexpensive, convenient construction . Its disadvantage is that it has poor heat resistance and can only be black.
Among several pitches, coal tar pitch is more toxic, and natural pitch is the least toxic. The poisoning caused by asphalt is mainly caused by contact with its dust or smoke. Bituminous waterproof coatings should not be used .
