What is the difference between Shellac, Shellac Sheet and Shellac Varnish?

Shellac is a gum that is the secretion of lac insects on certain plants in tropical and subtropical regions. Because it contains a lot of impurities, it needs to be washed to remove pigment and impurities, ground, heated to dissolve and filtered, and rolled into orange flakes, which is shellac flakes. Sheet-shaped shellac cannot be directly used for painting. Alcohol is needed to dissolve the shellac sheet into a liquid shellac varnish, commonly known as bubble water.

The characteristics of shellac varnish are fast drying, bright in color, hard and bright paint film, good adhesion, and strong sealing.

Because shellac resources can't meet the needs, resin has been used to make synthetic shellac now, and its performance is superior to natural shellac, and it is being vigorously promoted and used.
