What are the disadvantages of shellac primer, and which primer can improve these shortcomings? Picture 1For a long time, the coating of wooden furniture has generally used shellac paint as a primer, but it has the following disadvantages:

( 1 ) Most shellac paints are purple or brownish yellow, so it is not suitable for light or natural colors.

(2) Both the shellac primer and the polyester topcoat have poor adhesion, and the phenomenon of paint film peeling often occurs, which affects the coating quality.

(3) Poor heat resistance (generally about 8o ℃).

For this reason, XJ-1 acid-cured amino primer has been used to replace shellac paint.

The paint is milky white, suitable for painting light-colored or natural-colored wood, it has good sealing performance, and low cost (two coats can replace three coats of shellac paint). After testing, all performances have reached the standards issued by the Ministry, but the disadvantage is that the drying speed is slow at low temperature and high humidity. At 3o℃, the drying time is 3o~4o minutes; at 1o~15℃, the drying time is 3~4 hours.

The following points should be paid attention to when using this paint:

(1) When using, sulfuric acid with a concentration of 2o% should be added as a hardening agent, and the dosage is 3-5 ml per 100 grams of paint.

(2) The construction method of this paint is the same as that of shellac paint, and the amount of paint should be about 200 grams per square meter. Materials that can chemically react with sulfuric acid should be avoided in the matching putty, such as Dazifen, Titanium self-powder, etc., should use water-based dyeing putty.
