(1) Selection of paint varieties
The coatings used for rubber products need to adapt to the special properties of rubber. Most of the rubber products are high elastomers, and the coatings should have sufficient resistance to expansion and contraction. Commonly used coatings include: chlorosulfonated polyethylene coatings, polyurethane coatings, butadiene Rubber coatings, acrylate grafted rubber coatings, thermoplastic elastomer coatings, neoprene coatings, etc.
(2) Coating method
The surface coating of rubber products usually adopts spraying method. If it is not mass-produced or the shape of the object to be coated is complex, brushing method can also be used, and flat objects can be applied by roller coating and other construction methods.
Depending on the variety of coatings, there are self-drying and drying types, and most of them use the drying process. According to the different types of rubber and paint during construction, coating before or after vulcanization of rubber can be selected. Coating before vulcanization can make rubber vulcanization and paint drying proceed at the same time.
The neoprene product coating procedure is as follows:
①Surface treatment before painting. Clean it in trichlorethylene solvent and fully dry it with an infrared drying device.
② Dip coating with polyurethane paint, remove the paint liquid and dry it in an oven at 150°C.
③ Dip another coat of polyurethane paint and dry it.
