What is nitro paint, and what are its advantages and disadvantages? Picture 1Nitro lacquer, commonly known as spray paint, is made of nitrocellulose as the main body, combined with synthetic resin, plasticizer, and pigment (varnish without pigment), dissolved in organic solvent, and ground.

The advantages of nitro lacquer are:

(1) Dry quickly

The general paint drying time takes 24 hours, while the nitro paint can be dried in only ten minutes. Due to the rapid drying and explosion, the surface of the object to be coated is not easy to stick to dust, which guarantees the quality of the coating, and does not require baking equipment, and can greatly save construction time and improve work efficiency. Because it dries quickly, it can also save the area of the construction site.

(2) The paint film is hard and wear-resistant

Nitro paint has good mechanical strength, hard and wear-resistant paint film, and can be waxed and polished. Unlike paint, there are still shortcomings such as dust, stickiness, and wrinkled skin after dry operation.

(3) has good gloss

The disadvantage of nitro lacquer is that the paint film is easy to turn white in a humid environment; the solid content of nitro lacquer is low, and after drying the conjunctiva is not as thick as other paints, so it is generally necessary to spray 2~3 layers for construction, and even 8~ for fine projects. As many as 9 layers, the leveling property of nitro paint is poor, and it is not easy to brush.
