What are the process requirements for screen printing bottom plate production?

(1) One of the basic requirements for achieving good image reproduction is the quality of the transparent positive plate. The dots on the transparent positive plate should be straight and their edges should be opaque.

(2) The color separation sheet and the printing ink used should adopt the same color standard.

(3) Put the net positive negative plate on the glass plate and illuminate from the bottom. Put the stretched screen on the positive image base, parallel to the image axis, if moire appears, rotate the screen left or right until the moire disappears (in most cases, 7° is enough).

(4) The key area for forming moiré is located in the direction of the wire mesh and at the intersection of the wire.

(5) The main color and darker color cause more problems of moiré.

(6) For four-color printing, the same size and stable metal screen frame should be used.

(7) All screen frames are stretched with the same screen.

(8) Direct templates are made using dyed silk screen.

(9) Tighten the wire mesh along the wire direction.

(10) The stretching tension of all four screens is the same.

(11) There is no need to repeat the importance of a well-ground squeegee for high-quality printing.

(12) The Shore hardness of the squeegee is about 70 degrees.

(13) The squeegee should be set at an angle of 75°. If the angle of the squeegee is adjusted too flat, the printed image may be blurred. If the angle is adjusted too steeply, the risk of screen corner deformation is greater.

(14) The ink return knife should not be installed too low, and the operation of the ink return knife should leave a thin layer of ink on the template. If the ink return knife is set too low, the stencil will be filled with excess ink and the print will be blurred and smeared easily.

(15) Halftone images are printed with high-viscosity inks.

(16) Coarse mesh cable screening should be used for the initial screen printing test.

(17) The finer the screen needs the thicker the color ink.

(18) UV ink may smear, but it will not dry on the screen. Therefore, the mesh tone image should be selected in the range of 5%--80%.

(19) When using UV ink for four-color printing, ensure that the Rz value of the increased screen thickness does not exceed 5um.

(20) In order to control UV ink from smudging during color overprinting, it is recommended to print in the following color sequence: cyan-magenta-yellow-black.

(21) When using UV ink, the Shore hardness of the squeegee should be 75 degrees. Generally speaking, it should be harder than the squeegee printed with ordinary ink.

(22) The scraping angle should be around 75°.
