How to keep ink balance in printing?

Various factors in the production process have a certain influence on the balance of water and ink.

( 1) The printing plate needs to have a solid graphic foundation and blank foundation, keep the lipophilic and hydrophilic relatively stable, and the graphic foundation and blank foundation have good adsorption force to the printing plate base. If a certain condition is not met, the balance of water and ink will be lost.

( 2 ) Thickness of trachoma. The trachoma on the surface of the printing plate needs to be kept uniform and fine, with a certain mechanical strength, so that the graphic and blank parts have a solid adsorption basis and good water storage conditions.

( 3 ) The workshop temperature is constant. In principle, the workshop is required to have constant temperature and humidity conditions. Because the change of temperature will cause the change of ink viscosity and fluidity, and the increase of temperature will promote the evaporation of water, so the balance of water and ink will be lost. Especially resin-based inks are very sensitive to temperature. It is better to have an air-conditioning device to control the temperature within the range of 20-25°C .

(4) The machine runs at a constant speed. During production, the machine needs to maintain a normal constant speed and a constant speed. The machine is fast and slow, and the balance of water and ink is easy to lose control.

(5) Paper, ink. The properties of ink and paper used in printing are very different. Using different paper and ink, there are different requirements for mastering the balance of water and ink. For example, paper can be divided into tight texture and loose texture, as well as moisture content. Ink has viscosity, fluidity, pigment particle size and so on. In the case of printing plates, temperature and humidity conditions are the same, it is necessary to grasp the changes in their properties.

(6) Dry oil dosage conditions. Adding dry oil to the ink can accelerate the drying of the ink, but the dry oil can make the ink viscous and increase the fat sensitivity. Therefore, the improper amount of dry oil is the main factor that makes the balance of water and ink out of control and makes the plate dirty.

(7) pH value control of dampening diluent. The pH value of the dampening solution is also the main condition affecting the balance of water and ink. It needs to be kept constant and cannot fluctuate in a large range.

(8) Correctly adjust the pressure. The printing press needs to have accurate cylinder pressure, grinding roller pressure and water roller pressure. These three pressures directly determine the realization of water and ink balance.
