Paper gloss reflects the gloss of paper and the quality of printed matter gloss, and also reflects the ability of the paper surface to display images. The gloss of coated paper surface mainly depends on the glossy materials used in papermaking and the processing accuracy of paper.
The method of measuring gloss is to use a variable-angle gloss meter, often irradiated with light at an angle of 75°, the paper with good surface gloss has a large reflection value, and vice versa. Gloss is divided into two types: white paper gloss and printing gloss. The gloss commonly referred to refers to the gloss of white paper. The commonly used gloss meter angles are 20°, 45°, 60°, 75°, and 85°. Gloss meters generally used for paper testing often use a 75° angle.
