The (wet) rubbing (brushing) resistance of the coating is an important index of interior wall architectural coatings. It is related to the types of main film-forming substances in the coating, the composition of the coating, and the solid content. It can be tested with a special scrubbing resistance instrument, or manually. The test result is expressed by the number of times of scrubbing (before the bottom of the coating film is exposed). The manual test method is as follows:
Use 150 mm x 100 mm tin plate (or asbestos cement board, glass plate), after the paint is completely dry, soak in water at a temperature of 15-20 ℃ for 5 minutes, and rub the paint film vigorously with a brush for 1 minute. Then let the test panel stand for 1 minute, and repeat the cycle operation (the brush must be wet): so that the total friction time on the paint film is 12 minutes. After the test, check whether there is any change in the gloss and color of the paint film, whether the paint film has moved, damaged or exposed.
