After the topcoat is dry, the luminosity on the paint film may be large in one piece, small in one piece, or have wisps of light. These undesirable phenomena are called uneven gloss, and the causes are:
(1) Apply topcoat on the partially undried object surface, resulting in uneven gloss after the paint film dries.
(2) When brushing thicker alkyd paint, due to uneven brushing and not brushing the paint pile quickly, it is easy to make the gloss of the paint pile good, and the gloss of the rest of the parts is poor. Therefore, from the paint film On the whole, the gloss is uneven.
(3) When brushing shellac paint, nitro paint and other quick-drying topcoats, the number of brushing back on the paint film is too much, or when the paint is too thin and it is too late to brush evenly, the surface of the paint film is slightly dry , or the Spray Gun moves at an uneven speed during spraying, and the paint film will also have uneven gloss after it dries.
(4) Improper waxing and glazing, such as repeated rubbing when sanding and waxing, will also cause uneven gloss.
For the remedial method of uneven gloss, it can generally be remedied by waxing. If the gloss is obviously uneven, the paint film should be polished with fine sandpaper, and then the topcoat should be repainted.
