Acrylic adhesive is a multi-purpose product that is often used to optimize coating properties on metal surfaces to protect the metal from corrosion. Acrylic adhesive can be used as glue, paint or spray. However, its main purpose is to improve the adhesion of pigments in paints.
Acrylic adhesives are viscous liquids and milky white when wet and clear and colorless when dry.
Typical properties of acrylic adhesives:
Comes as acrylate, styrene-acrylate, or styrene-butadiene
Structurally an aqueous dispersion
Appears as submicron particles
Film Formation and Gloss Forming
Acrylic adhesives are observed in cured form, which proceeds by coalescence. This allows the binder particles to fuse together as moisture evaporation occurs.
