Water-soluble resins are the main ingredient in latex paint or any water-diluted paint or paint because they are completely soluble in water and other solvents.
Water-soluble resins generally exist in paints that are easily soluble in water, such as water-based paints, water-diluted paints, or latex paints. These paints consist of well known latex products and synthetic polymer products. When mixed in water, these resins often form micellar dispersions rather than true solutions. The particles range in size from 0.01 to 0.1 microns and produce clear mixtures without the addition of pigments.
Water-soluble resin is also called alkali-soluble resin.
Coatings containing water-soluble resins undergo condensation or polymerization. They contain binders that can be used in epoxy and alkyd formulations.
Water-soluble resin has the following characteristics:

Wetting and stabilizing
good pigmentation
Good fluidity and leveling
Good heat resistance and wear resistance
Low toxicity and flammability
Cleans up easily with water or water-based solutions
Although it takes longer to dry, the water soluble resin produces an excellent surface finish and protection. Heating and air flow reduce curing time. Water soluble resins are available for conventional application techniques and spraying.
