Generally speaking, the paint film will not crack after wooden furniture has been used for more than ten years. There are many reasons for the cracking of wooden furniture veneer, including technological reasons, as well as reasons for use (room environment, temperature and maintenance, etc.), mainly including:
(1) The furniture has been used for a long time, and the paint film is aging;
(2) The painter's technology is poor, and the construction does not meet the technical requirements.
(3) The moisture content of the wood is high, and after the finished product is made, the wood gradually shrinks and deforms;
(4) The paint film is often exposed to sunlight;
(5) The paint quality is poor.
Repair method:
(1) Use No. 300 water sandpaper to water-sand the surface of the furniture, wipe it clean and dry it, then paint several coats with nitro varnish, and then use a cotton ball to rub back and forth 5o~6o times (or until the cracks are covered) ); then use 4oo water sandpaper to smooth, polish and wax. This is how the lacquer finish cracks.
(2) Use No. 300 water sandpaper to perform water sanding on the surface of the furniture. After it dries, paint it four times with 685 polyurethane paint (with an interval of about one hour between each time), let it stand for three days, and then sand, polish and wax it. This is the way to crack the polyurethane cool paint finish.
(3) The most effective way is to re-apply according to the painting process after all the paint is removed.
