What is UV Aging Test?

For durable materials exposed to the outdoors, the short wavelengths of UV light, 300-400 nanometers, i.e. from 365 nanometers to the lowest wavelengths of sunlight, are a significant cause of aging damage.

The UV aging Test Chamber can be used to obtain real data on the anti-aging performance of products in a short period of time. A UV lamp is electrically similar to lamps used for general lighting, but it emits primarily ultraviolet light rather than visible or infrared light. For different applications, different spectra are required and thus different types of lamps are required.

Most models of UV weathering Testers are equipped with a solar intensity controller. This accurate light control system provides users with the convenience of selecting irradiance. Using the solar eye's feedback loop system, the irradiance can be continuously and automatically controlled and accurately maintained.

The illuminance control of the UV aging Test Chamber equipped with the solar eye illuminance controller has better test repeatability than the manual illuminance control inspection equipment, because the lamps do not have to be turned, and the maintenance measures are simplified. Inside the UV aging Tester, the illumination control system is relatively simple due to the inherent spectral stability of fluorescent UV lamps. As the lamp ages, the output of all light sources decays. However, unlike most other types of lamps, the spectrum of UV lamps does not change over time. This also improves the repeatability of test results and is a major advantage of testing with a UV weathering chamber.
