There are many inspection and maintenance tasks you should complete quarterly on your room's cooling system.
First check the condition of the chamber:
On-site glass/oil level (during operation)
Check for oil leaks/buildup around the system
Check condenser clearance
Make sure the air handler is sealed and there are no air leaks
Check pipe insulation
Check the operation of the condenser and evaporator fans
Check traps, vibration eliminators and all pipe supports
check for frost
Quarterly work on the refrigeration system of the environmental Test Chamber is also required. This work includes the following:
Cleaning the Condenser Coil
Check the evaporator and condenser fins to make sure they are straight (there is a special fin comb for each)
Cascade low stage static and working pressure
Discharge, Suction, Liquid Line, and Net Oil Pressure (two stages): Service Technician verifies refrigeration to ensure all pressures are correct and functioning properly
High/Low Voltage Safety Inspection
Leak check of all pipes and fittings
Low Level Expansion Tank Operation
Preventative maintenance is key to keeping your environmental chamber running for a decade or more. A well-maintained Test Chamber can even last for more than 20 years.
