Why does the vacuum oven need to be vacuumed before running?

As we all know, the vacuum oven is a box-type drying equipment that dries materials under negative pressure. It uses a Vacuum Pump to extract air and water, forming a vacuum state in the working room, lowering the boiling point of water and speeding up the drying speed. Do you know why the vacuum furnace needs to be vacuumed before use? Let me tell you why.

1. The test item is put into a vacuum oven for vacuuming to remove the gas that can be extracted from the workpiece material. Once the workpiece is first heated, the gas expands as it heats. Due to the good sealing of the oven, the huge pressure generated by the expansion gas will burst the tempered glass of the observation window, which is a potential danger. This hazard can be avoided by following the procedure of first evacuating and then heating.

2. If you follow the process of heating first and then vacuuming, when the heated air is pumped out of the Vacuum Pump, heat will inevitably be carried to the Vacuum Pump, causing the temperature of the Vacuum Pump to rise excessively, which may reduce the efficiency of the Vacuum Pump.

3. The heated gas is directed to the vacuum pressure gauge, which will generate a temperature rise. If the temperature rise exceeds the specified operating temperature range of the vacuum gauge, it may cause an indication error of the vacuum gauge.

4. Vacuum first, then heat. If you find that the vacuum rate decreases after reaching the rated temperature, add a pump appropriately, which will help to extend the life of the vacuum furnace.
