6 Simple Steps to Calibrate Burst Strength Tester

When it comes to corrugated boxes, burst strength is a key factor in determining their durability and usefulness. Many businesses have discovered that traditional methods of testing corrugated burst strength are not always accurate or effective. The burst strength Tester is a quick and easy way to determine the burst strength of corrugated boxes. It is designed to quickly and accurately test the strength of corrugated boxes under burst pressure. The test apparatus will provide a hydraulic load under a rubber diaphragm in a specific area of the sample being tested.

Why test the bursting strength of corrugated boxes?

When it comes to shipping, there is one surefire way to make sure your items arrive at their destination without any damage and that is using corrugated boxes. Using corrugated boxes will help keep them from breaking during shipping. Plus, the extra padding inside the box will cushion any bumps or bumps along the way.

Sometimes, the box may crack before the product is delivered to the customer. Therefore, it is important for the manufacturer to test the box for rupture.

6 Easy Steps to Calibrate a Bursting Strength Tester

If you want to measure the burst strength of corrugated boxes, then you can easily follow the steps below:

  • Before testing, prepare the test sample and plug the machine into 15 amp, 220 volts AC.

  • Place the specimen exactly on the platform in the center, parallel to the compression plate.

  • Whenever you place a specimen on this laboratory test apparatus, make sure that the specimen is accurately centered and parallel to the compression plate. This will help the accuracy of the test results.

  • Once the specimen is accurately placed on the test instrument, the rotary switch is easily moved down.

  • Users can take advantage of the fast runner option to place the compression plate just above the test specimen.

  • Remove any air gaps between the specimen and the compression plate.

  • After completing all the steps above, you can easily start testing.

This way you can easily measure the burst strength of the box.

How to easily calibrate a burst strength Tester?

  • Shorten the PROG lock on the rear panel to change the configuration. Open the front panel and separate it from the device. Open the plug and connect the main meter to it.

  • Place a metal plate with a minimum size of 100 X 100 mm on the lower jig. (If using MS, the thickness of the sheet metal should be 3 mm. In case of aluminum more )

  • Press and hold the Peak/Normal button for at least 3 seconds to select Normal mode. This will be indicated on the load indicator.

  • Press the "Press to Burst" button and maintain a pressure of about 20-25 kg/cm2 on the main gauge. Turn off the power button to hold the readout in the main gauge.

  • If the readings on the main gauge and load indicator do not match what is shown in the picture, the machine is not calibrated properly.

  • If the value in the master does not match the load indicator, press the "Limit" button. This will display LCAL on the load indicator on the left and a reading on the right such as 041.5. Use the UP/DOWN keys to increase the reading from 041.5 to 042.5. Now repeat the process until the value on the load indicator matches . Now open the "PROG lock" on the rear panel to lock the configuration.
