Did you know that tensile strength is an important factor when it comes to the durability of plastics? It is a direct indication of how durable the plastic is under tension. Manufacturers of plastic products must test materials for tensile strength to determine their durability.
What is a Tensile Strength Tester and what is it used for?
If you work in the polymer and plastics industry, then you need to understand the different properties of materials such as elongation, yield strength, and more. Therefore, manufacturers need to conduct different to ensure the quality. Tensile strength test or elongation test is one of the key tests performed on materials to easily measure the tensile properties of the material.
In plastic product manufacturing, Tensile Strength Testers are very useful in measuring the force required to break a sample and measuring how much the sample is stretched.
The specimen will be placed between the two jaws and pulled until it is damaged. This versatile testing machine will help manufacturers ensure products are durable enough to withstand tensile loads .
The Importance of Tensile Strength Testing on Plastics
If you work in the manufacturing of plastic products, a Tensile Strength Tester is considered a good investment for your product manufacturing business. An elongation test performed on a material will easily help determine if the material will break when a sudden force is applied. Tensile strength Tester helps to analyze the mechanical properties of plastics, such as yield strength, elongation and other related properties, and ensures high-quality materials are delivered to customers.
The testing machine will successfully perform tensile strength tests on materials and evaluate their susceptibility to structural materials. P
How does a Tensile Strength Tester work?
If you want to perform a tensile strength test on a material, you can follow the steps below.
When you start the machine, place the specimen accurately.
Press the TARE and RESET buttons to set the peak load indicator value.
Turn the rotary switch down.
When the rotary switch is moved in the lower direction, it will increase the value displayed in the load indicator.
When the specimen breaks, turn off the rotary switch.
When the machine is stopped, the load will be displayed in the machine.
You can also press the memory switch on the load indicator to show peaks.
Note the peak value shown in the load indicator and determine the tensile strength of the specimen.
In this way, you can easily perform tensile strength tests on your materials.
