Why is it important to measure top load strength and how?

Thinning or lightweighting is a fundamental concern of all manufacturers, mainly packaging manufacturers. Lightweighting is achieved by reducing the amount of raw materials . Remember: Using lesser quantities of raw materials will not result in poor quality and weaker containers that often collapse and fail during their lifetime.

The top load test has been proven to be one of the correct methods to continuously measure the reliability of the container. Manufacturers of containers of any type from all production verticals, especially those in the plastics industry need to ensure that their products are able to withstand the estimated forces they will withstand under the following conditions:

  • Capping or filling process

  • Warehouse stacking

What is the application?

This instrument is used to measure peak compressive strength as well as load at a specified deflection. It also measures the height of the bottle and its top load strength.

How to do it?

The Top Load Tester includes a simple procedure that anyone can perform:

The testing equipment operates by placing the test sample or preform bottle between two concave jaws to avoid slippage. Turn on the machine to start the test. Set auto tare and peak to zero. Now start the top load test and shut down the machine after viewing the effect of buckling on the bottle. Record the peak compressive strength from the digital indicator.

main feature

The test equipment offers simple and quick operation that can be operated by anyone, regardless of their skill level.

It is a fully automatic machine equipped with an electric motor that displays clear and accurate results in a digital format.

Provides the user with the tool to stop the test after viewing buckling.

The machine is properly equipped with import kits to effectively support the work of the Tester.
