The properties and characteristics of polymers and plastics explain the qualities of materials. The molecular elasticity of polymers or plastics explains impact strength, which is a spontaneous property of polymers. This characteristic plays an important role in evaluating the stiffness of a product. Rigidity, rigidity, flexibility or elasticity of a polymer explains the ability to absorb forces applied to the surface of the material. Typically, plastic films are used to package different types of products that experience a lot of wear and tear during use. Therefore, the impact strength of plastic film is considered to measure the quality of plastic film and make the film stand firm under the huge impact force.
Dart impact Tester – ideal for measuring impact strength
The dart impact Tester is suitable for performing dart impact tests on various plastic films and sheets. The measurement range is 300-2000g for method B, the measurement accuracy is 0.1g (0.1J), the measurement method is B method, and the test methods A and B are designed in dual mode.
According to the standard GB/T9639 "Plastic Film and Sheet Impact Resistance Test Method Free Falling Dart Method", and equipped with a micro-printer, the results can be printed after the measurement is completed.
The test method clearly measures the forces that can break or damage the quality of a thermoplastic film under certain specified conditions and when the film is delivered by a free-falling dart. The force exerted by a free-falling dart on the plastic film is expressed in terms of mass, which is determined directly when a dart of precise weight is dropped from a specific height causing failure or damage to the specimen.
Dart impact Tester to measure the strength and quality of plastic films. The instrument comes with darts of different weights and the option to set the height of the darts.
