Common defects and prevention methods of refurbished painting---Bottom bite wrinkling and Miscellaneous defects

1. Bite the bottom and wrinkle

After the finger paint is sprayed, the bottom layer is bitten to form wrinkles. There are two main reasons: one is that the top coat is sprayed with the back coat before it is dry, such as spraying polyurethane paint, and the back coat is sprayed when the first coat is half dry, which will easily cause wrinkles at the bottom. The second is caused by the different properties of the two paints, such as spraying nitro paint or polyurethane paint on the surface of the alkyd paint, due to the difference in performance, the strong solvent in the nitro paint or polyurethane paint can easily bite the alkyd paint Wrinkles.

2. Prevention and remediation

When spraying polyurethane secondary paint, be sure to wait for the first paint film to dry for more than an hour before spraying. (Related instrument: drying time Tester) The coating must be matched with the same performance paint to avoid it. If the bottom is wrinkled, the wrinkles should be removed, dry the bottom layer, then scrape putty or corresponding putty to smooth it out, smooth it with water after drying, wipe it dry and dry the water effectively, and then repair it again.

3. Other defects

For other defects such as particle impurities, dust impurities, etc., please refer to the relevant content in repair coating and color change coating.

For cracks, not bright colors, poor drying, low gloss, poor fullness, poor smoothness, roughness and dullness and other defects that appear after renovation, we can analyze and solve them according to the actual situation on site. For example, cracks are mostly caused by putty, such as phenolic putty or ester glue putty, which is too thick to be scraped at one time (relevant instrument: coating Thickness Gauge). Cracks will occur after drying and shrinkage, which can be prevented by thin scraping. Poor gloss and poor plumpness and smoothness are mainly caused by poor flatness of the base layer and too thin spraying of the paint film. Pay attention to the flatness of the base layer and the quality of spraying during operation. For defects such as dull color and roughness, the paint film can be re-polished and re-sprayed to improve the quality. For poorly dried coatings (relevant instrument: drying time Tester), when the putty layer is not dry, you can remove the non-dry putty and re-scrape it. When the paint layer is not dry, you can extend the drying time. spraying.
