Corrugated base paper - Determination of flat compressive strength

The flat crush strength of corrugated base paper refers to the ability to measure the bearing capacity of corrugated medium paper when it is subjected to flat pressure during the manufacturing process of corrugated board. This index is usually used to evaluate the strength and durability of corrugated board.

The flat crush strength of corrugated base paper can be measured by the following steps:

  1. Prepare testing equipment: corrugated base paper flat compression strength testing machine, sample cutter, sample mold.

  2. Cut the corrugated base paper into samples of specified size using a sample cutter and a sample die.

  3. Put the sample into the corrugated base paper flat compressive strength testing machine, and set it according to the equipment manual.

  4. Before starting the test, adjust the test head and pressure to suit the size and material of the sample according to the equipment manual.

  5. Place the sample on the test platform and adjust the position and direction of the sample.

  6. To start the test, apply flat pressure at a specified speed until the sample deforms or breaks.

  7. Record the pressure and displacement data during the test, process the data, and calculate the flat compressive strength of the sample.

NBCHAO reminds you: when testing the flat compression strength of corrugated base paper, the consistency of the test environment should be maintained to avoid the influence of interference factors on the test results. In addition, care should be taken when testing to avoid injury from the test head or sample cutter. Before testing, appropriate test conditions and test methods should also be selected, and international standards such as TAPPI T 810 and ISO 12048 should be followed.
