Introduction

Elcometer 155 Uncured Powder Coated Wet Film Combs are available in 4 measuring ranges for measuring the thickness of uncured powder coated wet films. This allows for preparation before the coating cures, reducing the amount of scrap and excess jet.

Insert the wet film comb into the powder coating and slide it along the surface. The measuring point (tooth) is pointed, allowing the powder to flow around the tooth.

The thickness of the powder is between the highest value in the drag mark and the lowest value in the absence of the drag mark.

Note: The thickness of the coating before curing is not the same as the value after curing, but there is a correlation. The powder film comb is suitable for reference only.
