Elcometer 280 D280-T---- Pulsed DC Holiday Detector Standard

Introduction

The Elcometer 280 is a 'handle type' EDM Detector designed to make pulsed DC high Voltage EDM testing safer, more convenient and more reliable than ever before.

The Elcometer 280 utilises specialist electronics to inspect coatings without the need to connect ground wires to the component substrate – ideal for inspecting large surfaces and pipes.

The Elcometer 280 utilises high Voltage pulsed DC technology to inspect coating porosity – even if the coating is wet, dirty or slightly conductive.

The Elcometer 280 sets the standard for the safety of high Voltage detection – a two-stage safety switch, a bright LED display and on-screen icon display when high Voltage start-up, and an extended coil thread to protect the user from sparks.

A variety of probe accessories can be used to inspect the porosity/pinhole of coatings up to 25 mm thick.

Features

• When a hole is detected, the display will flash, the LED indicator will be on, the alarm will sound, and the volume will be adjustable.

• 0.5-35kV range (user selectable) to inspect coating porosity up to 25mm (1") thick

• The safety switch in the handle cuts off the power supply as soon as it is released

• The rugged, shockproof and waterproof design ensures a long service life – even in harsh environments

• The balanced design is ergonomic and comes with a shoulder strap that lasts for a long time

• Based on the coating thickness value, the Voltage calculator automatically sets the correct Voltage (Advanced only)

• The internal Voltage verification device ensures that the selected Voltage is the test Voltage
