Introduction

Testex Press-O-Film HT Roughness Replication Tape, commonly known as anchor paper, rubbing paper.

Testex XC Press-O-Film consists of 2 mils (50 microns) of polyester film coated with approximately 5 mils (127 microns) of compressible film. The thickness of the compressible film can vary between about 5 mils and 6 mils (127 and 152 microns), but this change does not affect the accuracy of the measurement. The tape is rated for readings of 1.5 to 4.5 mils (40 to 115 mils).

Each roll of tape is marked with a manufacturing code and date for easy tracking. If stored in a relatively clean, dry environment,Tape does not expire,The tape can last for many years. Temperatures above 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius) will reduce the tape performance of the pressed tape. Temperatures above 140 (60 C)F will degrade the actual Press-O-Film effect. Petroleum products can degrade Press O-Film and should be kept away from tape.

Principle

The method of measuring the surface roughness of sandblasting or shot peening using Testex Press-O-Film roughness replication tape is called the profiling method, and the profiling method is also a common method for measuring the surface roughness of abrasive blasting or shot peening. It is to first use replication tape on the surface of sandblasting and shot blasting to produce an "impression" of the surface roughness type of the substrate, and then use a roughness meter to measure the spikes and valleys of the impression to obtain the surface roughness.
