Introduction

Plastic calibration diaphragms are an economical alternative to coated metal sheets. The accuracy of the calibration specimen was reduced by ±2 μm (±0.08 mil). The coating Thickness Gauge measures when this calibration plate is placed on a smooth metal surface (zero plate).calibrationThickness.

Non-calibrated plastic specimens (foils) provide a quick operational check of the instrument and allow the user to practice measurements while placed on metal. They can be placed on an uncoated metal substrate. However, it is not suitable for use with magnetic pull-out Thickness Gauges.
