Introduction

Easy-to-use, handheld reflectometer for measuring opacity or light reflectance in grayscale. It is suitable for evaluating the hiding power of coatings, or for simple shading sorting tasks for metallized films, anodized aluminium or ceramics.

Reflectance TesterMeasure the diffuse reflection light from the test surface. Controlled lighting conditions and illumination angles allow surfaces to be characterized based on their brightness or darkness. A completely black surface will read (zero), while a good white will be 100 units, which is recognized as a "Y" value on the color measurement scale.

A reflectance meter can be used to compare the contrast (hiding power) of paints. The method involves applying the test sample to a black and white card or polyester sheet, which is then placed on a black and white glass plate.

The reading is taken on the coating on the black part and then on the white part.
