Introduction
The Cobb Water Absorption Tester is used to test the water absorption performance of paper and paperboard surface, that is, the water resistance performance of paper and paperboard. It is mainly used to determine whether the sizing effect of the paper has reached the satisfactory state required by the customer. The Cobb Water Absorption Tester is a special testing instrument for testing the water absorption performance of the surface of paper and cardboard, and some people call it the paper surface absorption weight Tester. Therefore, it is also known as the Kebo Absorption Tester. This instrument is mainly used to measure the water absorption on the surface of sized paper (including internal sizing and external sizing) under the conditions specified in the standard. Those relatively loose papers (such as newsprint), unsized papers (such as blotting papers) and other papers with high water absorption are not suitable for this instrument.

The definition of paper and cardboard surface water absorption (Cobb) value: the amount of water absorbed by the surface of paper and cardboard per unit area under certain pressure and temperature within a specified time, in g/㎡.
According to the difference between the weights of the two weighed samples, the water absorption value of the cooper can be calculated:
C=(g2-g1)×100 (g/m2)
In the formula: c - cooperable value, g/m2
g2—the mass of the sample weighed after absorbing water, g;
g1—the mass of the sample weighed before water absorption, g.
Calculate the average value of the cooperable values of the five samples on the front and back sides respectively, and take it as the test result of the front and back sides of the sample;
