Introduction

The leveling meter is a special tool used to test the leveling performance of surface materials such as coatings, paints, and coatings. It is designed to simulate the leveling of paint on an applied surface in order to evaluate the surface quality and uniformity of the coating before it dries.

The groove depth and thickness of QAG 100~1000μm are 100/200/300/500/1000μm respectively. It is made of S136 wear-resistant stainless steel and has a Total length of 120mm, complying with ASTM D2801 standards.

Principle

The principle of leveling is based on the flow of paint on the construction surface. It works by applying a certain amount of paint to a horizontal or vertical surface and then observing the paint's leveling properties before drying. Scratch out 5 pairs of 10 coating marks of different depths. After the coating film dries, observe the distance between each pair of films and select the thickness of the pair of films with the smallest distance as the leveling data.

Structure and working methods

A leveler usually consists of a graduated paint tank in which paint is applied evenly to the surface of a test panel or sample. Depending on the design, they can be flat test panels or specially shaped samples to simulate different construction surfaces.

During the test, the paint is evenly spread on the test panel, and then the flow properties of the paint on the test panel are observed, such as whether it can fill grooves or flat surfaces smoothly and form a uniform film. Such observations can help determine the coating's leveling properties.
