Introduction
The paint film cross-hatch is a special tool used to test the adhesion of paint. Its function is to make cross-hatch on the surface of the paint to evaluate the adhesion between the coating and the substrate. This test is commonly used in coatings, paints, coatings, etc. to ensure the adhesion properties of coatings on different surfaces.
The QFH 1*10mm paint film scratcher has an 11-tooth cutter head with a tooth spacing of 1mm, which complies with ISO, GB, and ASTM standards. The cutter head is made of Cr12MoV high-carbon high-chromium tool steel, which has good wear resistance and high hardness.
Features
The tool head material is Cr12MoV high carbon and high chromium tool steel, which has good hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and deformation resistance.
Principle
The principle of the paint film scratcher is based on the adhesion between the paint and the substrate. Assess whether the paint is firmly adhering to the substrate at the scratches by creating a cross-hatch pattern on the paint surface and then using an appropriate tool, such as peel-off tape. This helps determine whether the coating is adhering to expected standards.
The multi-edged cutting knife with 1mm spacing is suitable for hard substrates (metal) with paint film thickness <60μm.
The multi-edged cutting knife with a spacing of 2mm is suitable for hard substrates with a paint film thickness of 61 μm ~ 120 μm or soft substrates (wood, plastic) with a thickness <120 μm.
The multi-edged cutting knife with a spacing of 3mm is suitable for hard or soft substrates with a paint film thickness of 121μm to 250μm.
Instrument structure
A typical paint film scorer usually consists of a hand-held tool equipped with a set of cross-arranged scorecards. These scribes are usually sharp blades that leave cutting lines on the paint surface. The spacing and angle of the scribes are usually chosen based on specific standards and testing requirements.
During the test, the paint film scratcher is placed on the paint surface and then used to draw across the paint with appropriate force to form a set of cross-cut lines. After that, use tape to cover the paint surface and quickly tear it off to observe whether the paint at the scratches is damaged or peeled off.
Standards compliant
The paint film scratcher is designed in accordance with GB/T 9286, ISO2409, ASTM D 3002 and ASTM D 3359 standards.
