product description
A personal noise dosimeter is a test device used to assess noise levels in a work environment by measuring the accumulation of noise exposure to provide information about the noise situation in the work environment. Using this test data, companies can ensure that their noise control measures comply with regulations or if noise reduction measures are needed to protect employees from noise-induced hearing damage. This noise dosimeter complies with GB/T 15952 standard.
Measurement principle
Dose is a parameter used to quantify noise exposure over a period of time. Noise exposure is converted into a percentage equivalent to 90dBA for 8 hours. That is: 100% dose = 90dBA for 8 hours
This is what is known as the standard. Other standards are also possible, such as 100% dose = 85dBA for 8 hours, to meet different national legislation.
If a person stays in this environment for 4 hours, he gets 50% of the dose.
Moreover, if the noise level is 93dBA, which is 3dB higher, it only takes 4 hours to accumulate 100% dose. The above example is for a dosimeter with a 3dB exchange rate, a 3dB increase in sound level corresponds to a multiplication of energy. For a dosimeter with a 5dB exchange rate, the sound is increased by 5dB to double the dose, which is appropriate for each country's noise regulations.
Features
This noise dosimeter has the following characteristics:
Measure frequency-weighted noise exposure and peak sound levels simultaneously.
The operation is easy and the results can be read directly.
Eight built-in standard dose measurement settings: OSHA80, OSHA90, MSHA-80, MSHA-90, DOD, ACGIH, ISO85 and ISO90.
Nine user-definable measurement settings are available.
Can store 50 dose (data) results.
Supports downloading settings from PC.
Keyboard lock function to prevent accidental operation.
Integrated timer supports pre-selected measurement times and durations.
Output via USB data cable to communicate with PC.
Features single sound level meter (SLM) settings including two overlapping measurement ranges: 60–130 dB and 70–140 dB, A and C rms weighting, linear and C peak weighting, fast and slow time weighting, and Energy exchange rate (Q) 3, 4, 5 and 6.
In dose measurement mode, displays dose percentage, estimated dose percentage over 8 hours, peak level and measurement duration.
Daily exposure sound levels in countries complying with European Union regulations or equivalent ISO standards (such as LAeq, 8hr, pa2h in the IEC 61252 standard, corresponding to L EX, 8h in ISO 1999).
Time-weighted average (TWA) measurement compliant with US OSHA/MSHA regulations.
As a sound level timer, it can display time average sound level (L Aeq) and peak sound exposure level (SEL).
With built-in clock and time-history capacitor, automatic operation timing function can be realized.
Sampling times can be set from 1 second to 1 hour, and up to 120,000 data points can be stored.
Ability to measure and save up to five specified LN values (statistical noise level).
Set running time, preset start and stop times and other parameters via instrument keys or software.
