Product Introduction

KTQ-II/25202 Adjustable ApplicatorIt is to adjust the scraper control gap, i.e. the thickness of the coating film, by adjusting the differentiator on the applicator. The adjustable applicator is suitable for completely flat flat coating, with a coating range of 0~3500 microns, a coating width of 100mm, and an accuracy of ±2μm in adjusting the gap of the scraper.

How to do it

1) Place the KTQ-II/25202 adjustable applicator on a completely flat test substrate surface. Adjust the squeegee to the desired clearance (should be twice the thickness of the wet film)

2) In the front section of the coating knife, pour a small amount of test sample between the end plates. At a slow and uniform speed, about 1~2cm/s.

3) Move the applicator over the substrate surface until the liquid is fully coated and any remaining liquid has been removed from the end of the coating path.

4) When coating, the wet film thickness gauge can be used to measure and adjust the gap until the desired wet film thickness is reached.

Note: The exact ratio of wet film thickness to any coating knife gap depends on the material used, the viscosity and texture of the liquid, the force applied on the coating knife, the coating speed, and the geometry of the coating edges.

Maintenance and servicing of the applicator

1）KTQ-II/25202 Adjustable ApplicatorImmediately after use, wash with an appropriate solvent.

2) The two ends of the scraper move in the groove, and the slot needs to be kept without testing the sample material at any time.

3) Differentiators occasionally need to be repositioned to correct for wear or misalignment. The correction differentiator can be adjusted by loosening (rather than removing) the hidden set screw on each differentiator to lower or raise the component.
