This standard specifies methods for the determination of fluoride in ambient air by permeating membrane sampling and fluorine Ion selective electrode method. It is suitable for the determination of the concentration of gaseous and particulate fluoride in air. Under certain conditions of Sampling flow rate and time, the detection limit and determination limit of the method are 0.5 ug/m ³ and 2.0 μg/m ³, or 0.06 ug/m ³ and 0.24 μg/m ³ respectively. During operation, the muriatic acid used is highly volatile and corrosive, and protective equipment should be operated in the fume cupboard and worn to avoid contact with skin and clothing.
