The purpose of this standard is to evaluate the stability performance of blends formed by mixing thermal plasticity resilience polymer and asphalt during thermal storage or heating. It is expressed by measuring the difference in softening points between the upper and lower asphalt sections of aluminum tubes after testing. The standard does not apply to modified asphalt systems blended by capacitance and emulsion methods. Before conducting the test, the user of the standard needs to develop appropriate safety application procedures. The equipment required for the test includes aluminum tubes, ovens, refrigerators, brackets, knives, electronic scales and standard sieves. The test steps include sample preparation, thermal storage, chilling down, segmentation, softening point determination, etc. The report shall include the softening point of the original sample and the segmented asphalt and the value of the difference in the softening point.
