This standard specifies the apparatus, specimen and method of dynamic tearing test for metals. It is suitable for metallic materials with a minimum ear degree of 5mm. Dynamic tearing work value is an important index for evaluating the rapid development of resistance to fracture of metallic materials. The test records the total energy lost during fracture by applying an Impact load. The test can be carried out with a pendulum or drop weight tester.
