"GB/T 18449.1-2024 Metal Materials, Knoop Hardness Test, Part 1: Test Methods" specifies the principle, equipment, specimens, procedures, uncertainty of results and reporting of metal Knoop Hardness test. Applicable to the range of test force values from 0.009807N to 19.613N, the diagonal length of indentation is required to be not less than 0.020mm. Daily inspection and periodic inspection methods including hardness gauge are applicable to hardness testing of metal and inorganic coatings. This standard is modified to adopt ISO 4545-1:2023 international standard, which is in charge of China Iron and Steel Industry Association and centralized by the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee.
