The national standard "GB/T 44304-2024 Test method for fracture resistance of fine ceramics at room temperature indentation (IF) method" specifies the test method for measuring fracture resistance of fine ceramic materials at room temperature using indentation method. It is suitable for dense single-phase ceramics, whiskers and particle-reinforced composite ceramic materials, but not for continuous fiber-reinforced ceramic-based composites. This method is helpful for material development, mass evaluation and Reliability data collection. The fracture performance of materials is evaluated through the determination of indentation fracture resistance K. The standard modification adopts ISO 21618:2019 international standard and will be implemented on March 1, 2025.
