      The ASTM D7444 standard specifies a method for thermal and wet aging testing of oxidizable degradable plastics. This test is designed to simulate the aging process of plastics under high temperature and humidity conditions to assess their performance and durability in the real environment. Test conditions should be chosen within the temperature and humidity range typically observed in the actual disposal environment, such as soil (15% to 40% moisture), landfill (35% to 60% moisture) and compost (45% to 70% moisture). It is important to note that the test results are for comparison and sorting purposes only in the laboratory and cannot be used to directly extrapolate actual disposal expectations or predictions. In addition, degradable plastics that are exposed to heat and humidity environments undergo a variety of physical and chemical changes, and the time of exposure, temperature, and humidity levels determine the degree and type of change. Therefore, when conducting heat and humidity aging tests, a variety of factors should be considered to comprehensively evaluate the performance of plastics.
