The ISO 16544:2012 standard specifies equipment and procedures for regulating thermal insulation products for buildings to moisture equilibrate under conditions of (23 +/- 2) ° C and (50 +/- 5) % relative humidity. The standard applies to thermal insulation products with molded enclosures, but generally does not apply to finished products or products with Miscellaneous surface preparation. Moisture content is usually specified as a result of equilibrate between the atmosphere and the product under the above conditions. This standard can also be used if the product needs to be regulated under Miscellaneous relative humidity conditions. It is important to note that moisture equilibrate may vary due to hygroscopic or dehumidification processes due to hysteresis effects, and it may take longer to achieve better equilibrate. Therefore, equilibrate should be accepted within a certain accuracy range. For non-hygroscopic products, no adjustment is required, but the surface should be ensured to be free of water before testing.
