ASTM E92-23 standard specifies the test method for Vickers hardness and Knoop hardness of metal materials. Vickers hardness is assessed by applying a pyramid-shaped diamond indenter to measure the length of the diagonal of the indentation; Knoop hardness is measured by applying a rhombus-shaped diamond indenter to measure the size of the indentation.
