ASTM D4856-23 is a standard test method for the determination of sulfuric acid mist in the air of the workplace, using ion chromatograph analysis techniques. This method collects air samples through a mixed cellulose ester (MCE) membrane and is suitable for detecting the concentration of sulfuric acid mist in the workplace. The minimum detection limit for the test is 0.001 mg/sample or 0.017 mg/m ³ (60 L air sample). This standard is widely used in industrial environment monitoring, especially occupational exposure assessment in industries such as sulfuric acid production, metal picking, etc.
