The ISO 5269-2 standard specifies a preparation method for laboratory paper for physical testing of pulp, using the Rapid-Köthen method. This method uses a Rapid-Köthen sheet shaper to form a pulp suspension into thin sheets for subsequent physical performance testing. This method is suitable for most pulps, but not for pulps with longer Fiber lengths, such as pulps made of uncut cotton, linen, etc. In addition, this method is not suitable for the preparation of laboratory paper for the determination of the blue diffuse reflection coefficient (ISO luminance) according to ISO 3688.
