The TAPPI T 843 standard specifies a test method for determining the compressive strength of the corrugated edges of corrugated paper media (i.e. corrugated base paper) using the rigid brace method. This method assesses the contribution to the overall compressive performance of the corrugated box by measuring the edge compressire strength of the corrugated paper sample in the direction of the top of the corrugated in the laboratory preparation. During the test, a rigid compressor is used to apply pressure on the corrugated paper sample until it collapses to determine its edge compressive strength.
